HOW TO FIND THE MODEL NUMBER ON YOUR HP PAVILION AND MEDIA CENTER DESKTOP PC

Use one of the methods described below to identify your computer.

NOTE: Some HP computers are sold together (bundled) with a monitor, scanner, and/or printer. These bundled products can be identified by the " -b " extension of the computer name. To find information about an individual component, search specifically for it. To find information on the HP PC, search for the model name without the “ -b ” ending. For example, to find information on the 533w-b , search for 533w .

METHOD ONE

Use method one if the computer is already turned on.

While holding down the Ctrl and Alt keys, press the S key on the keyboard.

The HP Support Information dialog, shown in Figure 1, appears. This dialog contains the model number of your HP computer.

METHOD TWO

The model number may be found on a nameplate on the front of the computer or on a sticker adhered to the side panel. If the model number is not on the front or sides of the computer, try one of the other methods.

METHOD THREE

Find the model number on a label adhered to the back of the computer. The label (Figure 3) on the back of the computer lists the model number.
