HOW TO FIND THE MODEL NUMBER ON YOUR HP PAVILION AND MEDIA CENTER DESKTOP PC Use one of the methods described below to identify your computer. NOTE: Some HP computers are sold together (bundled) with a monitor, scanner, and/or printer. These bundled products can be identified by the " -b " extension of the computer name. To find information about an individual component, search specifically for it. To find information on the HP PC, search for the model name without the “ -b ” ending. For example, to find information on the 533w-b , search for 533w . METHOD ONE Use method one if the computer is already turned on. While holding down the Ctrl and Alt keys, press the S key on the keyboard. The HP Support Information dialog, shown in Figure 1, appears. This dialog contains the model number of your HP computer. Figure 1: Support Information dialog 1 - Model number METHOD TWO The model number may be found on a nameplate on the front of the computer or on a sticker adhered to the side panel. If the model number is not on the front or sides of the computer, try one of the other methods.
